Our Bioindustry Divisions are based in Fukuoka BioIncubation Center (Kurume city, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan). At this center, cutting-edge research is made possible in open laboratories equipped with DNA sequencers, gas chromatography-mass spectrometers (GC/MS), and other analytical equipments.

We have a biosafety level 2-research facility. A biological safety cabinet has been set up in the laboratory, and we store viruses, bacteria, and fungi under thorough safety control.

We also have a microbial collection, which is mainly isolated from marine environments, with more than 4,000 strains, including members of the genus Bacillus, lactic acid bacteria, and viruses and fungi. We select effective microorganisms with unique and specific abilities and commercialize them. We also have many animal and insect cell lines that are used for cell toxicity tests, antibody production, and other examinations.

We have many analytical instruments such as the real-time PCR system, which we use to quantify the DNA of the target microorganism.

Large-scale production of the selected bacterial strains is done using a jar fermenter. The clean room allows manufacture of high-quality products in a sterile environment, thereby preventing contamination by dust and other microorganisms.
